Musicians and Fine Artists for World Peace Sandy Fox - Love Planet Records Cheryl Melody - Cheryl Melody Productions Daniel Dancer -In Concert With Nature-Art For the Sky James Twyman Bio: Several years ago, James Twyman decided to apply his lifelong gift for music to his spiritual quest. Inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, Jimmy took to the road singing of peace and happiness to whoever would listen. Shortly before leaving on a European tour, James was given a copy of the peace prayers from 12 major religions. He was inspired as he read them and the music started to flow. By the end of the day, James had written music for each of the 12 prayers and knew there was something special about them. While on tour in Europe , James was led by coincidence after coincidence and ended up in the war-torn countries of Bosnia and Croatia. While there coincidence led him to find a secret society called the Emissaries of Light, that had been anchoring peace in this dimension throughout time. He shared in their meditations and teachings, being told that he would be the one to take their teachings to the world. His adventures in Bosnia-Croatia were told in his book Emissary of Light Jimmy Twyman is still a Peace Troubadour, travel-ing around the globe, singing the peace prayers and giving workshops on the teachings of the Emissaries of Light. He shares their techniques for transmuting fear from the consciousness and anchoring peace within. For it is when we are peaceful within, that the world will reflect this peace outwardly. He has since traveled around the world, often risking his life, to sing Prayers of Peace. James was invited to Baghdad, and later, Belfast, Ireland to sing and pray for peace. Each time he called for the world to join him in focused intent; and each time thousands of you did. As you all know, both Iraq and Ireland agreed peace was the answer within days. James dedicates his life to helping us all become Emissaries of Light. At his workshops and concerts, he teaches practical ways we can all bring more peace into our lives and shares his music singing songs of peace to our hearts. Kelly Simmons Dear Alan - Jaka is interested in joining the organization but would like information on what that entails. Is there a membership fee, etc etc. (i.e. what's expected or needed of us) I would be happy to join as One World Entertainment, which was the name I used when I booked Jaka on my own. The Booking Agency is in a state of flux right now, with a likely purchase of, (and end to) the Agency as a whole and the release of most of the roster to find other agencies (Jaka included). Tom will move to a large national agency that is seeking to purchase The Booking Agency as a way to hire him and gain access to his contacts in the ""jam band"" scene and his long experience. I will be out of a job in probably two weeks and trying to decide what to do. aaa! On a positive note, if Tom does move to the agency, I will have a friendly link to Merl Saunders and others at that agency. So. things are in a big state of flux right now, for me personally and for Jaka...... I'd LOVE to serve on the board if you believe I can do some good. (amazingly, I have worked for 5 years in NM State Government as the deputy director of an agency with a board of directors where I worked on lots of legislation and other issues) I have a very strong creative networking mind and ""Making connections"" kind of way of thinking/working. I would LOVE to work with you on a Department of Peace event. I'd have to find some way to make a living while doing that, unfortunately, so my ability to be involved will depend on what I manage to scrounge up and how much time it leaves me. I have possible contacts with Michael Franti and Spearhead who have taken a public stand on the death penalty.....I also have contacts within the author community surrounding entheogens, the end to mandatory minimum sentencing and the drug war, etc or for lack of better description- the Stan Grof, Tim Leary, Terence McKenna scene. I don't know if that's too controversial as well. But I can offer my ability to communicate with that community who are dedicated to healing and spirituality. I also know Roshi Joan Halifax who has started the Zen Peacemaker Order with Roshi Bernie Glassman and I know the editor of their new journal very well. Joan lives in Santa Fe, my ex-hometown, and I participated in her zendo, the Upaya Center. She teaches meditation in the NM prisons and has led ""bearing witness"" trips to Auschwitz and other places. The editor of their new Peacemaker journal is a dear old friend of mine who lives in the mountains of Santa Cruz. I just spent a few days visiting him while Jaka was performing up there. He's doing some very interesting things and is the author of several books and has a small publishing house. Well, gosh, I'm so excited about this developing connection with you.
Perhaps it can lead to great things for both of us. Jonathan Goldman Bio: Jonathan Goldman is a writer, musician and teacher. Alan, your work is amazingand so far reaching -am very impressed. It is because of this song that Lewis felt we should connect. And because of my work w/peace. In addition, I have a 3rd CD, Voice of the Angels a Healing Journey. I look forward to hearing from you, and would happy to mail you information about my work as well, and would like the same from you. Bio: I am first and foremost an educator, and then a composer, recording artist and national performer. I use all of these "hats' in my concerts. I offer WORLD PEACE 2000 concerts to Elementary Age children, families, schools, etc. Interactive musical storytelling involving the whole audience while teaching them about peace within, peace on earth, earth consciousness, and the celebration of diversity. CD: WORLD PEACE~THE CHILDREN'S DREAM I also have written a school play that teachers can put on with the children by the same title, but expanded. no royalties requested and changes can be made w/o my permission. But my concerts are what I choose to bring forward to the Universe full time and full force, and any facilitation you may feel moved to offer would be appreciated. Kids need a sense of hope in this world of negativity and violence that they see and hear; they need to know there are solid ways that they can make a difference. They need to realize that it does truly begin w/one small behavioral change within them...that extends to the world at large, making it a more positive place. CATERPILLAR BUTTERFLY: On my CD, SONGS THAT MAKE THE HEART FEEL GOOD,
I wrote an in depth song called Caterpillar Butterfly, words mirroring
our own growing and changing and potential. I've offered the world a free
download of this song on mp3.com/cherylmelody. In addition, I have a 3rd CD, VOice of the Angels a Healing Journey. I look forward to hearing from you, and would happy to mail you information about my work as well, and would like the same from you. An important aspect to most of us who have assembled at Yasgur's Farm is that no organized religious, commercial or political body has been instrumental in promoting the assembly. It is composed of devoted folks from every land who gather together in peace. Bio: 1969 was the year Jesus our Lord totally changed my life. I was a California hedonist completely saturated in the Bohemian, Beatnik, Hippie culture of San Francisco involving drugs, fornication, and a pantheist mix of religions and philosophies. I was one of the staff of an underground newspaper called, the "San Francisco Oracle". My wife, Cynthia, was a banker's daughter from Minneapolis and in 1968 she inherited a few hundred thousand dollars from her uncle Don Blanding (Poet Laurat of Hawaii) with which we bought a ranch near Missoula, Montana and supported our favorite causes. We both had a shadow of faith in a very ill-defined God but no understanding of the unique role of Jesus Christ in the plan of salvation. Suddenly our Father in heaven intervened in our lives and I found myself behind bars in jeopardy of losing my wife, my son, and my liberty. I had committed no immidiate crime that brought about the severity of my situation, but a technicality, arising from my being on probation from California for possession of Marijuana placed me under the jurisdiction of the State of Montana when I became a property owner. The authorities of Montana viewed us as rich hippies and wanted us gone. So, I was shipped back to California in handcuffs and chains, though the authorities in California were not even interested in my case. It was November, 1966 and, while on my honeymoon with Cynthia, on the island of Maui, we met a Zen master, who offered us a place to stay and instruction in esoteric Buddhism. One day a group of tourists came into the temple where I, with a shaved head and wearing the traditional robe, was going about my daily duties. A middle-aged woman said to me, "What's a boy like you doing here?" I said, "I'm studying the relief of pain and suffering." It was 9 months from the time I accepted the Lord until I was released from the jail in Fresno County, California. So, I had plenty of time to have my feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. After I was released my wife joined me in California and we heard about a small, but powerful ministry in Rio Linda, near Sacramento. We went there and met the young preacher, Cecil Barnes. He baptized us in the Rio Linda Creek and we both received the Holy Ghost. My wife, Cynthia died of brain cancer in Taos, New Mexico in 1977 and I married my present wife, Abigail Storm. More than once in the last twenty years I have drifted off the straight and narrow path so that I have real knowledge of being filled with my own ways and backsliding. But, more important, I have seen our Lord correct and chasten me so I can be sure he loves me. The testimony of how we came to Woodstock with six of our seven children, seven years ago, is part of the book I am writing, "Ghosts of Woodstock." During that time we have participated in the annual reunions of the Woodstock Nation at Yasgur's Woodstock site and witnessed what God is doing there. Max Yasgur's Farm is in Sullivan County, New York in a town called Bethel meaning "House of God." Every year thousands of people return there in August for a reunion of those who were affected by the 1969 event. The interesting thing is most of the people who gather there are parents and grandparents accompanied by their children. So, it is a family affair. Peace and freedom are experienced by those who attend. God gets all the glory because every year political and commercial interests attempt to seize the ground and every year the Peace and Love of the celebrants win the day. Brooke Medicine Eagle Dear Alan, YES, of course, I am happy to join the other imaginals in the creation of this new butterfly of love, joy, peace, and fulfillment. For what else was I, were we, created? What more wonderful thing to do with this one precious life than to consciously join the Great Creator in this uplifting evolution. I would be glad to be on your honorary or indigenous boards. Many thanks. For All My Relations, Brooke Medicine Eagle, Chalise Bio: " . . .the bridge into a new time must be a bridge of light; and thus all colors, all races, All Our Relations must be included in that bridge for the rainbow to form an arch across the chasm." * Brooke Medicine Eagle is a Native American metis - an Earth wisdom teacher and catalyst for wholeness, ceremonial leader, sacred ecologist, Feng Shui practitioner, singer/songwriter, and author of a spiritual autobiography, Buffalo Woman Comes Singing. . Her beauty way awakens physical and spiritual health, offers Native American music and chants, promotes ritual honoring of Earth cycles, provides women's mystery teachings, and creates a sustainable, holy path for two-leggeds to walk. Her dedication is to bringing forward the ancient truths concerning how to live a fully human life in harmony with All Our Relations as we approach the crossroads into a golden age. Brooke's new book, The Last Ghost Dance, which focuses on the practices of Earth magic and ascending into our greater humanity is now available. . Her new Wakantia training will awaken and challenge you to the next level of being human -- as an Earth Mage living in harmony and grace upon a renewed Earth. At home in the beautiful Flathead Valley of Montana and in the White Mountains of Arizona, Brooke is the creator of Eagle Song, a series of spiritually-oriented wilderness camps; and is the founder of the FlowerSong Project, which promotes a sustainable, ecologically-sound path upon Mother Earth for seven generations of children. Brooke's primary interest is in the renewal of ancient ritual forms for creating a beautiful path upon Mother Earth, today and for the future. To this end she is creating an in-depth training, Wakantia , to offer the opportunity for a deepening of Spirit which awakes us to an ascended level of humanity through committed practice and community. Although of mixed heritage, her tribal enrollment is through the Crow Indian tribe in Montana. She has native blood from the Lakota and Nez Perce peoples, as well as ancestors from Europe. She teaches from her primary identification as a global family Earthkeeper -- a sacred path dedicated to nurturing and renewing the Circle of Life through the growth and healing of our two-legged family upon Mother Earth. She walks this beauty path in a way which combines non-traditional Earth Wisdom with a strong dedication to learning from the ancient voices which speak through Mother Earth and Father Spirit. Recently she has been learning more about her Celtic roots through Scot and Irish ancestry, and has begun Song of the Nations - a series of learning opportunities, gatherings, councils, and Confluences sponsored by Feathered Pipe Foundation. Though these she creates unity and service with teachers and participants from many traditions around the world. For the past several years, Brooke has been doing less public work and more personal spiritual work to clear herself and open to the next level of understanding for sharing with others. White Buffalo Woman, one of her guides, is sending through information about creating new kinds of gatherings which go much beyond our current form of workshops and conferences (Wakantia and Confluences and are two of these new and transformative kinds of gatherings). Brooke's current focus is on ancient information concerning the great and positive changes possible for our two-legged family to create as we move through the millennium to the prophetic turning of the Ages sometime around 2010-2012. Brooke spends part of her year helping to ready Rainbow Hearth sanctuary in Texas as a place help others find transformative time for themselves. Through her own retreat time, Brooke has developed a great appreciation for the power of this kind of quieting. She says, "As we move into this new time, it is not about figuring out anything or even doing something different; the most important thing is to release old and unworkable patterns at the baseline of our consciousness, and to align with the heart of our truest and deepest Self. This will mean, then, that the great energies coming to Earth in the next decade can energize what we really want - what is positive and magical - rather than magnifying the past programs of limitation, stress and disharmony that we have been playing out." Through all her work, Brooke invites you to heal yourself by taking spiritual action in service of All Our Relations. *from Buffalo Woman Comes Singing Laurel Rosenberg Laurel Anne Rosenberg: Laurel, is a California native, artist, mother and grandmother. Awards: Hallmark Art Award Bob Silverstein We Want Peace On Earth CD Project My family and I had a wonderful time at the World Peace Festival in Amenia, NY. Several thousand people attended. Pete Seeger made a guest appearance, inspiring the crowds with some of his peace songs. Our friend Alan Moore was there, too, and my 8 year old daughter was thrilled at being able to let a butterfly fly up into the rainy skies. The crowd that gathered around was visibly moved and inspired as Alan recited the Earth Proclamation and spoke about the efforts of the Earth Rainbow Network and the huge movement that is arising from every direction to utilize the year 2000 as an opportunity to transform our global community.
